Decisions about the application

I wanted to go to a challenging uni and meet other clever students.

Oxford does not offer straight Economics

I love eco.

Selwyn is perfectly allocated next to the Marshall library and has excellent teaching.

Preparation

yes

A mock interview and help with filling the forms.

Interview

yes

TSA test. Quite important. Prepare yourself with doing some critical thinking and do the prep test online.

no

no

Surprisingly good. The admissions tutor and head of Economics were very nice.

Ín the General Interview: Why are you the right person to study Eco at Cam? A lot about my personal statement.
Subject interview: Game theory (specified on my PS) and a lot of micro and macro. I remember one question about house prices.

Smart casual. Wear whatever you feel comfortable with. They don’t care.

Impressions

Very Good

Exceptional.

The students I met were very nice and I felt very welcome.

Final stage

Horrible. I thought I would get pooled. Tried not to think about it over christmas. It was nerve wracking to hear others who applied getting places or being pooled and being uncertain about yourself

Undescribable. Champagne.

Looking back

Definitely.

Don’t put too much pressure on you before the interview. They are looking for someone who can think and not someone who knows all the news perfectly.
