Decisions about the application

Great university, might as well go to the best if you can.

Wanted straight economics, not PPE or E+M

Seemed friendly enough, medium size, no horrible archetecture that i’ve seen, no real reason considered ‘open’ app for a while.

Preparation

yes

Mock interviews with relations of a member of staff (both did PPE at oxford).

Interview

yes

yes

yes

1st interview with economics fellows, was given data, concentrated on macroeconomics particularly development and trade.
2nd interview with admissions tutor (classics fellow) general problem, which was infact economic in nature. – to do with funding the college. then discussion about deflation and a little economic history thrown in.

Suit, smart and comfortable, couldn’t see any reason why not.

Impressions

Friendly and welcoming, nice college not as much grandeur as the more priestigous colleges.

Nice enough, seemed easy to chat to.

Students in the coffee room were very forthcoming, geniunely seemed to love the place. just seemed to have their feet on the ground and were very friendly.

Final stage

errr… i was half asleep didn’t realise what it was, opened envelope saw i got in cryed ‘yes’, felt pretty good.

Looking back

yes, would always wonder if i could get in or not.

don’t get worked up about it.
