Decisions about the application

I had heard about Cambridge’s excellent reputation especially in science, and the course really appealed to me, it is not offered at many other universtities

Cambridge had the course I wanted to do

I love Biology and Education studies looked really interesting because you get to study a combination of history, philosophy, psychology and sociology.

Most Education studies students are at Homerton; they specialise in Education studies and Homerton was really friendly and beautiful when I went to look around on the open day.

I had a mock interview, but the real thing was pretty different!

Read around your subject and be passionate and enthusiastic. Its also a really good idea to know your personal statement really well.

Two college Biology essays

My first interview was an interesting intellectual debate about education.
My second interview focussed more on Biology including specific biology questions using prompts.

why education studies? why biology? Lots of questions about my personal statement

black trousers and a smart jumper. I wanted to look smart but at the same time be comfortable.

Homerton was very friendly and had beautiful architecture and grounds.

size of rooms about average, many appeared to have en suite facilities though 🙂

Very friendly, not at all stuffy, very interesting to talk to.

Friendly, they appeared to really love Homerton!

Final stage

very nervous!

I was so excited and shocked I didnt stop celebrating for days!

Looking back

You may as well apply….you may regret it in the future if you dont and you thought you could have got in!
