Decisions about the application
Am not the Oxbridge sort – went to private school and didn’t receive outstanding grades so couldn’t apply through CSAS. Saw this course and thught this is the course I want to do (English and Drama with Education) so I tried and got an offer.
Course is not offered at Oxford, but I think Cambridge is a prettier town.
It is where the main body of Education applicants are.
There were Oxbridge lessons and mock interviews.
Don’t get worked up just muse upon what you think and write it down, they tend not to ask you the Qs you think they would.
I submitted a Drama essay, which they said they liked.
Education interview went really well, they were just interested in your opinion on and awareness of Educational issues.
English and Drama interview was slightly more iffy but they really helped to make me at ease.
Had a drama workshop which was really fun and helped you to relax with the interviewers.
I wore jeans and a cardigan as I wanted to feel cmfortable especially as I was going to take place in a workshop.
The education building is a bit naff (and is on the grunds of the college) but the college itself is pretty. It is very far from the rest of the university.
Good size and ensuite bathrooms!
Friendly and not the typical Cambridge type.
Really thought I wouldn’t get it.
I burst into tears with joy, and then with panic as I saw the grades I had to meet.
Just relax and be yourself I didn’t say anything spectacular.
