Decisions about the application
Because you have nothing to lose
cambridge has a better engineering course
its what i wanted to do, and the cambridge one is particularly good as you have two years general engineering where you do a bit of everything.
I chose peterhouse as its the nearest college to the engineering dept (im lazy) and looked nice.
I guess, they had critical thinking and interview practise for oxbridge people but i didnt go to any of them :s
there were two academic ones- no personal ones (I only got asked two things from my PS in total).
I had a maths interview where there was a list of questions and i had to answer as many I as could going down it.
in the first one there was a graph sketch (which was impossible and the interviewer had to basically tell me how to do it) then there were complex numbers, integration and differentiation questions.
After I had 40mins to prepare two out of three phyiscs problems on a sheet, and in the interview went through my answers explaining what i did and it didnt seem to matter i got them all wrong.
I wore smartish grey trousers, black van trainers, white shirt lime green v-neck jumper on top and an orange cord jacket. I wore this because it was comfortable (the shoes especially) and i didnt see the point in going any smarter really.
it was nice and the arcitechture is impressive!
I didnt see them
They were really nice, well the interviewers were.
there werent any, it was the xmas holidays for them.
i didnt really have any, as it got closer though i guess i was nervous!
I was soo suprised and couldnt believe it, and then went to school and had the best day ever!
Definitly, even if i hadnt gotten in. the experience is good for you i think.
