Decisions about the application

er… not really sure.

Oxford don’t offer aeronautical engineering – Cambridge do.

Small, friendly atmosphere, close proximity to just about everything, but more importantly – no STEP papers.

Yep – 40 mins a week for a few months. General info on interview techniques, suggested reading lists for my subject, practice subject related questions.

The Forms: I just copied my UCAS Section 10 and changed 2 words.

The interview(s): You need to be interested in engineering (obviously), and need to have some knowledge on the particular branch of engineering that you want to go into. It would be helpful if you had an idea of what you wanted to do after graduation.

2 interviews. One with DoS and the other with 2 fellows. Both were academic related.
No questions like “What can you offer this college?” or “why should we make you an offer?”

er…”Why engineering at Cambridge?”…”Why aeronautical engineering?” … some more that I can’t remember

There wasn’t a formal test, but I was asked technical questions at both interviews. Contact me for specific details.

Only visited Corpus, so didn’t get much info on the others apart from the college prospectuses.

College accomodation for all 3/4 yrs. Good sized rooms. Internet connections in most rooms. what else?

Didn’t see any students..just other applicants.

Looking back

You don’t need to be a genius in your chosen subject…just need to show interest. Just act yourself during the interview and be honest.
