Decisions about the application

I liked the way in which you are taught at Cambridge.

I went on visits to both cities. Hated Oxford but loved Cambridge.

It had the friendliest atmosphere and the best accommodation.

Preparation

yes

I had a mock interview with a solicitor and heard talks from studentss from my college who had gone to Oxbridge.

Regarding Application Forms: Write a completely different statement on the PAF.

Interview

no

no

no

I was asked about what I thought I would get out of going to Cambridge to which I waffled an incoherent answer!

I was given three hypothetical legal problems which I had to attempt to solve on the spot.

Trousers and open-necked shirt. Never liked ties!

Impressions

Robinson is very modern with a vibrant atmosphere.

My room was fairly big and had its own private bathroom.

Excellent

Very friendly

Mostly from Southern England (I’m from the North) and very friendly and willing to talk at length with you.

Final stage

I couldn’t believe they offered me place. I was over the moon.

Looking back

Definitely. It was a great experience in itself.

Don’t prepare too much; you will sound over-rehearsed
