Decisions about the application

Great Reputation for being a World class institute

The maths course at Cambridge seems to have an edge of the Oxford one. Also, Cambridge as a city is lovely

Wasn’t a hard choice, always wanted to do maths.

Large beautiful college, good facilities, liked the feel of the place when I visited

Had one practice interview

Just do maths, don’t worry about anything specific. Read some of the pop maths books, gives a nice background knowledge.

They were fine, interviewers were pleasant and warm, could understand that I’d be a bit nervous. The first Interview was a general interview, just a chat about why I liked maths and I was asked my opinion on a couple of topics. Then I had two subject interviews.

Maths questions innit 😛

Shoes, half smart trousers, fleece/Jumper. Casual smart and all of that, as long as you feel comfortable with what you are wearing, and as long as it isn’t too scruffy.

I liked the idea of collegiate environments from the start, was like the colleges all had different personalities. not that I am into anthropomorphisms.

Room size was good (sets) , first year students all in the same building. Facilities of the College are good, sports grounds close by.

On the whole very good. Didn’t manage the whole of my breakfast though, butterflies and what have you.

Very pleasant (in case they’re reading this – you’re all lovely)

Wasn’t anything flagrantly bad about them!

Final stage

Nervy, very much considering what ifs

Heart beating quite load when I heard post through the letter box. Opened the letter, saw there were conditions on there and the word ‘congratulations’, was a bit in shock for a short while

Looking back

No question.

If you want to study here, give it a go. There are other brill universities to study at if you don’t get in, but to study maths at Cambridge, for me, is something I am looking forward to muchly.
