Decisions about the application

Academic excellence.

Preferred the city & the approach to the course.

I enjoy it.

Visited the College, loved the environment.

Preparation

yes

I had one mock interview. It didn’t hurt, but I don’t think it gave me a huge advantage.

Simply be confident about talking to someone you haven’t met before. If you’re not sure about doing that then definitely arrange a mock interview in your school.

Interview

yes

Oxford Maths admissions exam.

no

no

They went well, I thought the questions were fairly easy. So did everyone else.

Interviews were 100% focused around Maths. Nothing else came up.

Casual. I didn’t bring a suit. Everyone else was wearing casual.

Impressions

Varies, but the accommodation I stayed in was en suite.

Good.

Friendly.

Friendly.

Final stage

I was bricking it.

Got a letter.

Looking back

Yes.

If you find your subject stupidly easy at A level then go for it.
