Decisions about the application

It is the best uni in the country

I had always thought of Oxford being better for Arts and Cambridge being better for Sciences.

It seems really peaceful and had lovely gardens. It ranked top Cambridge college in 2002, and it is close to all of the Medical Laboratories.

Preparation

no

No tuition but I had 2 mock interviews and a few handouts on how to cope with oxbridge interviews

Interview

yes

The MVAT test, I just read up on my GCSE Physics notes (As I don’t do A-Level Physics), and I did one past paper and one specimen paper.

no

no

II had one interview with a lady and then one ith two men.

The lady asked me why medicine, why pembroke, a few science questions based on my alevels…etc. Whereas the men asked me HARD science questions which I wasn’t meant to know the answers to, but they wanted to see how I was thinking on the spot.

A suit, to look smart and to be comfortable (as I have to wear them everyday to school as well).

Impressions

It was really pretty, and it seemed to have a freindly atmosphere, and it is also known for being a top academic college.

Average sized.

Edible but not great

Friendly.

Friendly as well.

Final stage

I was in shock, as I was not expecting to receive an offer!

Looking back

Yes, as my opinions of it havn’t changed (see opinions above).

Prepare well in advance and read current issues in the newspaper.
