Decisions about the application

I don’t know why really, it seemed a good idea at the time. I don’t even know if I’m gonna accept their offer cos it’s not the best place to go for medicine necessarily

I live too near oxford, otherwise I would have wanted to go there cos it’s a bigger city

I went and had a look at some of the colleges which fitted my needs (not too few females, not all-female, quite high state school %, near centre of town, not too big or small etc.) and Clare seemed the friendliest and nicest

a bit

Filling in the CAF: Don’t bother trying to think of something to say if there’s nothing original or different to say than what was on your UCAS form. I didn’t write anything

Otherwise: Read the newspapers, read a good book preferably by someone famous so you can drop it into the conversation.

The MVAT in November at my college. Didn’t really prepare – it was basically just GCSE science.

As expected pretty much and I met some really cool people. I advise staying the night after your interview

Well it was weird, the interviewer threw me a tin of baked beans and asked me to talk about it. Other than that just the usual really, but they didnt ask me why I chose Cambridge or why I chose Clare.

Grey trousers, blue shirt, purple jumper & trainers. I was going to wear jeans but everyone I asked said I shouldn’t, so I settled for my grey trousers. Other people were wearing skirts and smart tops.

All very friendly, even if big like Trinity

Very nice, very comfortable, I stayed in a quite large room, shower down the corridor

Edible but not great

Friendly, old

Well I’ll say it again – friendly, everyone I met was very friendly.

Final stage

Well I didn’t open it for a couple of hours, then I did and it said I had an offer, so yeah that was good. It said if I didnt want it I had to phone them ASAP, but I haven’t yet they can wait until I’ve heard from my other unis.

Looking back

Yeah cos it was fun at the interview and I met some cool people. And also I got a place at a good university.

Definitely stay the night after or before your interview, so you can get the feel for the town and college and check you do actually like it.
