A in Biology, A in Government and Politics, A in Mathematics
Offers from Sheffield and York. Rejection from LSE. Still waiting on Durham.
Decisions about the application
The course mainly, not done the same anywhere else
Again, just the course
The combination of the interrelated subjects was exciting, plus I would like a use for my Maths.
Keble was just beautiful. It’s so hard to mak the decision, there are so many with not many differences, so I just picked Keble for its location and its look and size really.
Just a mock interview
Try and get a mock interview, make sure you read over your books. Other than that, just be confident, a lot of what they ask you will be spontaneous. Just don’t panic! XD
TSA in November. Pretty tough but was quite enjoyable I think.
They were tough, I really didn’t think I’d done that well!
They were very response-based. Not much on prior knowledge or study. I think its better that way too, you can show your intelligence by what you come up with, not just how many books you have read.
Economics was two game theory/problem solving sheets given to me 20 minutes before.
Philosophy and Politics was together. I was asked a question on the validity of some given arguments. The morals behind sentence times for attempted murder. Questions relating to my Politics A2 course.
I just wore a big jumper (it’s cold!) and some straight leg jeans. I didn’t really feel the need to wear a suit.
Loved it. The rooms were nice, the hall was great, the location was just the right distance from town.
Room was very big! Had a bookcase thing with a large desk, a walk in wardrobe, an en-suite. Awesome.
Really good. Self service brekkie, then some nice cooked food in the evening
Again, not what I expected. Very down to earth and professional
Friendly and willing to help out! I had someone take me to my interview because I couldn’t find the room!
To be honest, I thought there was no way I was getting an offer. I figured I could have done much better and there were clearly people smarter than me there. I wasn’t really thinking about it.
I got a call.
It was shocking at the time and took some time to sink in.
Probably a nice way to find out, in hindsight. A letter would have been very nerve-wracking.
Just have a go. It’s only one place on the form.
