Decisions about the application
Only Oxford offer PPE
Acedemically stimulating, wide range of fields to explore, extremely interesting.
Pretty, large, good accomadation, close to the centre of town.
Read alot of material relevant to your course in addition to school work
Philosophy went badly- blundered around a bit but I felt the other interviews went well.
What is the difference between lying and nottelling the truth?
Is the currrent financial crisis indicative of a faliure of capitalism.
I came equipt to wear either casual (polo and jeans) or smart casual (shirt, jumper, suit trousers and smart shoes) and elected on smart casual as the majority of other applicants were dressed similarly.
open and welcoming
I stayed in a double room, with a slightly uncomfortable bed but containing a piano!
Good quality with lots of choice, though rumours abound that good food is put on for the benefit of interviewees
extremely friendly and approachable; happy to rephrase a question and allow a pause in the interview to think.
Helpful; willing to give a detailed tour of the college and answer any questions, certainly not aloof or dismissive (though it could be argued that such students would not be chosen to assist applicants during the interviews)
Not particularly anxious as I was aware no amount of worrying would affect the decision in any way.
I was relieved. High fived my brother.
Apply even if you are unsure you’ll get a place- the experience of interviews and meeting so many new and interesting people is well worth the hassle of applying even if you fail to get an offer.
