Decisions about the application

Felt I was good enough and wanted the challenge and facilities

Oxford offered physics and Cambridge only had NatSci, I didn’t do chemistry and wanted to do just physics.

Quite rich, centrally located good accomodation and supposedly good food

Preparation

yes

Two practice interviews and some lessons

The interview(s): Try to think about how things around you work, don’t get stressed in the interview, I did.

Interview

no

yes

Two pieces of written work. I submitted one piece on radioactive decay and one on projectiles. Both STEP as thought difficulty would impress tutors.

yes

One hour maths paper no preparation as content was pure 2 level so fairly straightforward but time pressure

Mathematics based interview went well but I had a mind blank on the last question of the physics interview

Graph sketching and estimations plus explanations.

Suit as it said to wear what you would to a formal school occassion

Impressions

College very nice accomodation good but JCR possibly a bit on the small side.

Single rooms or sets for two with living room. Spacious and comfortable
