UCL for Neuroscience (which was my main interest). Decided on Oxford for variety in subject.

 grades pending/unknown

Decisions about the application

Partly ‘because it’s oxbridge’ but also the tutorials and interest in course that wasn’t offered by that many universities.

Cambridge didn’t offer the course

I love the medical sciences but didn’t want to be a doctor

Applied to Keble due to high number of neuroscience tutors, offered St Hughs through pairing

Preparation

Awful, had surgery the night before and was on painkillers.

Didn’t really get any of the questions ‘right’. Talked a lot about ideas though, which I guess was good.

General ‘here’s a situation, what is going on’ questions.

Jeans and shirt.

Impressions

Was a bit intimidated, but were friendly and accomidating of my condition

The students at St Hughs were great, Keble, maybe less so.

Final stage

Was sure I didn’t get in

Was just chilling and picked up the phone. what else do you want?

Looking back

Try to get a real interest in reading around the subject so you can talk constantly by relating to other stuff if need be
